At Clear Vision, one of our key responsibilities is reviewing and if necessary, preparing P11D forms for your business. A P11D is an annual return that reports all benefits in kind provided to employees and directors.
Timings and Deadlines
The P11D return for the year ended 5 April 2025 must be submitted to HMRC by 6 July 2025. Any associated Class 1A National Insurance Contributions must be paid by 22 July 2025 (19 July if paying by cheque).
Late submission of the P11D form or delayed payment may result in penalties and interest charges.
What is Needed
The links below provide full details from HMRC and can help you determine whether any P11D reporting requirements apply to you. Please note, if you are a sole trader or in a partnership, P11D forms apply only to your employees, where relevant.

If expenses paid to directors or employees during the tax year were incurred wholly, exclusively and necessarily in the course of their duties – and full records are maintained – these do not need to be included on forms P11D.
Preparing Forms P11D
If you would like us to prepare your P11Ds for this year, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you believe that P11Ds are required, we’ll need a list of the relevant expenses and the employees to whom they apply. Once you’ve contacted us, we’ll provide further guidance on the information we need.
For clients whose P11D forms we prepared last year, our 2025 P11D Checklist will be emailed to you in due course. This checklist is a general guide and includes a list of questions for you to answer. Please note, if you don’t receive the email, we still recommend that you review your records to assess whether P11Ds are necessary.
If you have any concerns regarding benefits provided to employees or directors, the correct tax treatment of those benefits, or how to maintain expense claims, please reach out – we’re here to help.
Mandating the Payrolling of Benefits in Kind from April 2026
From the 2026/2027 tax year, benefits in kind will be reported and taxed through payroll, replacing the end of year P11D submission. Income tax and Class 1A National Insurance will be processed in real time via payroll, rather than at year end.
We are currently upgrading our software to ensure a smooth transition and will provide further updates on any necessary changes.
If you would like to discuss this now and better understand the upcoming changes, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
